ABOUT US

Los Bilingual Writers is a non-profit literary organization who mentors young creative writers, encourages senior citizens to share their histories, tell the stories of the community and promotes the writings of artists.  Our work is focused in the under represented neighborhoods of San Diego, California.

Each year we publish an anthology celebrating those who participated.

Our programs are funded by Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, foundations and private individuals.

Los Bilingual Writers is a Community Partner with the San Diego Latino Film Festival, sponsoring writing workshops led by Hollywood directors.  We also participate in arts and culture festivals e.g. Fiesta Del Sol Street Fair and Chicano Park Day, including Latino Conversational Series at San Diego State University, Poets/Writers Roundtable and theTijuana Book Fair in Tijuana, Mexico.

In 2010 we partnered with StoryCorps Historias, whose interviews of Latinos in San Diego, will become a permanent record in the National Archives.
